3/5/04 - Weeks 3-5 photos
Lots of changes in the past few weeks - all of them good.
OK, Betsy was right. Keeping up on weekly updates of this page is going to be pretty tough for me. I will definitely keep updating it fairly often (at least every few weeks), but I realize now weekly is just not likely. At least we know Betsy’s mom and David’s sister Michelle will keep checking back. :-) (Anyone else out there checking here often?)
Betsy writing: It has always been me doing words and David doing pictures on this web site, so I thought I’d step up to the plate. Carter is starting to grin occasionally. Best times are mornings. David and I have split up the day into mostly 3 hour blocks of responsibility, but I do a 2 am to 7 am shift as I seem to handle those hours better than David. He picks up the odd hours elsewhere. I’m starting to go out with Carter more - I try to get out at least once a day and he is usually with me. I have been going to a Baby and Me group on Tuesdays run by the same person who taught our Infant Care and Birthing class. I’m going to start a Baby and Me yoga class on Monday. I just want to find opportunities to be with other moms - both to make new friends and to see other babies.
We have had 2 wonderful visits from Aunt Michelle, David’s sister. She had WAY more energy for walking with the baby and she was awesome at the morning shift from 7 - or even 6 on. We miss her already. My brother and his family (Connie and son Kevin - 13) came to visit. Their visit purpose was twofold, see the new addition to the family and get some medical checkups for Kevin. Kevin also got a new cat, Poof, when he was here. Two friends from the bay area, Kathy Means and Irene Shen stopped by for quick visits while on business trips to Portland. This weekend Tita Cookie and Uncle Dusty are coming for a long weekend - 2 more wonderful friends from the bay area.
Life is good here. We are sleeping more (still not enough). Carter turned 6 weeks today and every day is pretty darned amazing.
